About Me
I have been licensed for over 31 years. I have done a variety of different kinds of counseling from working at the Betty Ford Center in their family program to working with potential gang members in a placement setting. I was a supervisor at a battered women shelter in Palm Springs for five years. When I moved back to Northern California I worked for almost a year at Northern Valley Catholic services seeing clients who had their children removed by CPS. After that I worked for Home Health Care with HIV clients seeing them in their home and I also facilitated a group for them. I did that for seven years and after that I opened my own office in Chico California and had private clients up until the time that I decided to do only online which was almost 2 years ago. I feel that online is just as effective as face-to-face. In some ways I feel it is more effective in that people seem to open up more about very personal things that I think they would be less likely to do in a face-to-face session. I feel comfortable working with almost everyone and I am not judgmental at all and I am very understanding. My goal is to help you with your issues and especially to help you get to a better place in your life. I like to be in pretty close contact with my clients.
My Writing Availability: I try to answer every message the same day that I receive it. In rare cases I would answer the next day. If there is an emergency I would definitely be there immediately.
Phone Availability: I can provide a 50-minute phone call a week without writing sessions. The minutes cannot be rolled over from week to week within the month. If you’d like to schedule longer phone sessions, you can purchase additional phone minutes with me in your account.

"Polly contacted me the very first day I signed up. She seems to really understand me and is not judgmental at all. She’s keeping in contact with me throughout the day and I feel really listened to and supported. She’s insightful and asks questions to clarify before she responds. She brings up points I wouldn’t have thought about and is very encouraging. I’m so glad I got her as my therapist! I couldn’t be more satisfied with our sessions so far!"
